This porcelain vase was inspired by William Morris designs of magnolia flowers.  I free-motion embroidered the flowers and the texture of the stitches have been overpainted with cobalt at the bisque stage to give a rich, traditional blue.  The remaining exterior is unglazed, the interior is glazed and the rim has a real gold lustre.  The vase is 13cm tall and the base is 10cm x 5.5cm.
