This little porcelain jug has an embroidered effect long-tailed tit on one side and a pair of feathers on the other side. I embroidered the bird and feather and then cast the stitched material in plaster. From this I could press porcelain into the plaster and construct the jug in sections. Once the jug was biscuit fired and glazed inside and and on the handle, I over-painted the stitching with a very fine brush, with cobalt to give a beautiful rich blue finish. There are three sprigged porcelain buttons on the base. The small jug is 7.5cm tall and the base is 8cm wide. The jug is dishwasher safe.
