This porcelain vase has a textile texture with the effect of a large embroidered custard cream.  The softly folded shape of the vase has the effect of a line of stitching down the back.  The texture of the machine embroidered and French knot stitches have been overpainted with cobalt at bisque stage to fire to a deep, traditional navy blue.  The interior is glazed with a shiny transparent glaze and there is a gold lustre rim to give an extra delicious detail.  The vase is 12.5cm tall and the base is 9.5 x 5cm with a top dimensions of 6.5cm x 4.5cm.
