This little bird is perching on a lichen covered branch and surveying its surroundings. There is a pair feather on the reverse of the jug. I machine embroidered the bird and feather in textile and cast the fabric in plaster. I then pressed the slabs into the plaster and handbuilt the jug. Once bisque fired, I paint cobalt over the stitching and fire again to top temperature. The interior and handle is glazed with a transparent glaze and the jug is dishwasher safe. There are three sprigged buttons on the base. The jug is approximately 7.5cm tall and 7.5cm  across the base.
