This chaffinch is standing on a branch surveying its surroundings. There is a clutch of three speckled eggs on the reverse of the jug. I machine embroidered the bird and eggs in textile and cast the fabric in plaster. I then pressed the labs into the plaster and handbuilt the jug. Once bisque fired, I then paint cobalt over the stitching and fire again to top temperature. The interior and handle is glazed with a transparent glaze and the jug is dishwasher safe. There are three sprigged buttons on the base. The jug is 12.5cm tall and 10.5cm across the base.
