This oval, softly tapering, folded porcelain vase is 14.5cm tall, with a base 11.5cm wide and 6cm deep, with a top of 7.5cm wide and 5.5cm deep.  Having embroidered the wren and the branch of berries, I cast the fabric in plaster, into which I can press a porcelain slab.  This slab is then folded and joined into place down the back and around the back of the base.  The texture of the stitches have been overpainted at bisque stage with cobalt and fired to give a beautiful rich blue.  The interior has a shiny transparent glaze, the exterior is matt and there is a gold lustred rim.
