This conical shaped porcelain vase is 17.5cm tall, with a base 10.5cm wide and the aperture is 4.5cm wide.  Having embroidered the blue-tit on its branch of buds, I cast the fabric in plaster, into which I can press a porcelain slab.  This slab is then cut and joined into shape.  The texture of the stitches have been overpainted at bisque stage with cobalt and fired to give a beautiful rich blue.  The interior has a shiny transparent glaze, the exterior is matt and there is a gold lustred rim.
